Negative: The location is right next to a private beach, and it’s very quiet — that’s the best part. We chose the most affordable unit, but we didn’t expect to encounter so many issues: 1. The towel rack in the bathroom was broken. (The host sent a handyman to fix it, but he accidentally broke the light cover while working. Cleaning up the mess delayed our plans by about 40 minutes.) 2. The ceiling fan in the small room wobbles a lot, which looks quite scary, though the handyman said it’s “normal.” 3. The kitchen light is out, making it dim when cooking. 4. There’s no balcony, which is fine, but there’s also very little natural light inside the unit. 5. The towels had a musty smell. (The host later brought two new ones, but there are four of us.) 6. The air conditioner is a portable unit placed next to a window in the inner part of the house, so the bedroom near the entrance gets quite stuffy due to poor ventilation. If you plan to be out most of the time and just need a place to sleep, this location works. But if you’re looking for a more relaxing stay and plan to spend time inside, I’d suggest increasing your budget for a better-quality place. The host mentioned the current rate is discounted because of exterior renovations — and honestly, at this quality level, that feels about right.
