This 42-acre very private historic country estate consisting of 3 separate residences is surrounded by the Rivanna River and Blue Ridge Mountains. This residence, "The Cottage" consists of 3 bedrooms, a King, a Queen and a Twin bedroom. The downstairs has a fully equipped kitchen as well as the living room and a dining area with views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. There is also an outdoor seating area complete with a charcoal BBQ. The property also has two pickleball courts.

The space
SAFETY: We are licensed by Albemarle County, which requires an annual fire inspection. The house is equipped with smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, evacuation routes, fire ladders, first aid kits, fire blankets, and postings with emergency numbers. We also have an AED on the property.
All matresses and pillows are protected with hypoallergenic and waterpoof covers. Sheets, comforters and covers are all washed with in hot water between guests.
SECURITY: All windows and doors close and lock properly. This property is located down a private driveway and is monitored by security cameras in the courtyard.
Guest access
Guests can enjoy the space and tranquility of grazing animals while enjoying the sweeping views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Take the trail to the Rivanna River or do laps in the pool. Guests are welcome to explore the property, we only ask that they stay within Rivanna Estates property lines. Please see the map that will be located in the residence. This bucolic cottage is also a short driving distance to Barboursville Winery as well as many other vineyards and distilleries. History buffs will enjoy taking the tour of Thomas Jefferson’s home, the famous Monticello, as well as James Madison’s Montpelier.
Pickleball - Court shoes are required.
Hiking - there is a map located in your residence.
Bocce Ball/Cornhole - message the host and we will provide the balls/beanbags.
Pool: We open the pool towards the end of May and close it in early October, weather dependant. There is a basket of pool towels near your front door. Please sign the pool waiver prior to using the pool. The pool is reserve for resident guests only.
Parking: There is a 3 car parking area that has a set of stairs with a railing that leads to the house. As a note, the steps are fairly steep so not conducive for guests with physical impairments.
You are permitted to bring 1 dog, no more, with a $75 plus tax pet cleaning fee added to the reservation. You must notify us if you are bringing a dog.
